Australia, you'll be glad to know, reckons in dollars and cents. A dollar is a buck, but forget about terms like nickel, dimes, and quarters. The Australian dollar ($A) tends to float several points below the U.S. buck, but these points vary from month to month. Most of time it hovers around the $US 0.55 (55¢) mark.
Coins come in d 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, and 50¢ in silver
Notes (not bills) are $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100.
